UPDATE Sat 10 /09: Due to today's announcement that Monday 19th September will be a Bank Holiday to mark The Queen's funeral, we have had to postpone this workshop until October - final date to be confirmed.

--------------------

Interested in acting, storytelling and local history? Then we're running a special one-day community theatre workshop for adults designed to explore untold stories inspired by the rich heritage of The Chessington Industrial Estate.

We're running the workshop on Sunday 18th September, from 10am to 4pm, at The Hook Centre, Hook Parade, as part of a major project to celebrate the industrial estate’s past, present and future.

During the workshop, we'll play storytelling and improvisation games inspired by old news stories, photos and other sources, to explore the lives that were shaped in different ways by the companies that once operated on the site.

This includes notable businesses like: Parnell Aviation, manufacturer of RAF gun turrets during the Second World War; Siebe Gorman, innovators of diving equipment; and Gala Cosmetics, with its pioneering Mary Quant make-up range that not only transformed millions of faces in the late 60s and early 70s but influenced how cosmetics are marketed today!
