Community planting at New Malden Station

A team of fantastic local volunteers of all ages took part in our latest community planting event at New Malden Station yesterday. Local residents and members of GoodGym Kingston, Kingston Environment Centre, Save the World Club, New Malden Residents and more took part in two days of planting to create bee friendly verges as part of the Go Cycle campaign to link New Malden and Raynes Park.

The planting plans were designed by local start up, Janice Horslen Design, who has worked tirelessly to create a pollinator-friendly scheme which will be hardy and provide year-round interest for local people.

Find out more information about the plants used and the plans behind the planting on Janice's website:

The planting complements new bee friendly planter-benches designed by local start up, 121.Collective, which have been introduced to the route. The benches are made from 90% up-cycled materials.
