A heart-warming tale of the triumph of good over evil and the ability of one individual to change the lives of many.
Lefi Ganderson, born half child half goat, is rejected by the grown ups of Seething but the children love him for his kind heart. They bring him scraps from the village and Lef teaches them how to make toys, clothes, music and food from the things people throw away.
But there is a dark cloud on the horizon. Every four years the giant Thamas Decton returns to his home on the top of Mount Seething and terrorises the villagers. Can Lefi do anything to save the people?
"The tale of Lefi Ganderson and his battle with the Giant has passed through the ages. Its core narrative appears in many folk tales such as Jack and Beanstalk and the Classic Norwegian legend De Baby og de Gigantiske. But for many the classic tale is still 'The Goat Boy of Seething.
This book gives as clear a rendition of the saga as is possible but unfortunately the Seething Festival and its community procession stopped in 1921 and the legend was last told in 1927.
