Join Ecologist Alison Fure as we discover the landscape through Jefferies’ eyes and explore the places that helped shape his writing.

Richard Jefferies (6 November 1848 – 14 August 1887) was an English nature writer, noted for his depiction of English rural life in essays, books of natural history, and novels.

Following on from our earlier visit exploring sites associated with the celebrated nature writer Richard Jefferies, who lived in Tolworth from 1877 to 1882, this walk will focus on the natural features of Tolworth Court Farm that inspired and appeared in his essays, including The Ford, The Barn, The River, The Trout, and others.

Join us as we discover the landscape through Jefferies’ eyes and explore the places that helped shape his writing.
