Industrial history walk with researcher Jarek Zaba
Learn about the stories behind these ordinary streets.
Most people drive past industrial estates without thinking, as they aren't glamorous, and they aren't in guidebooks either. But they are crucial as it's where things get made. Where people work, where communities sustain themselves, where ordinary lives happen. Chessington Industrial Estate tells the story of suburban towns and their significance and how that work has transformed over the last 60 years.
Jarek Zaba is a researcher and author of Cox Lane Industrial Estate (published by The Community Brain in partnership with Kingston University press), he's documented the companies, spoken to the workers, studied the growth, and the changes that shaped this place. This walk brings that research to life.
