About the event

  • 40 volunteer models from South Western Railway, Network Rail and the wider community will showcase historical outfits, representing every decade since 1820.

  • The display will be joined by live music, including a performance of a song written specifically for the event by the Our Lady Immaculate Primary School choir.

  • September’s show continues The Community Brain’s year-long celebration of south west London’s fashion heritage.

The catwalk is coming to one of Britain’s busiest train stations in celebration of south west London’s fashion heritage. Kingston-based non-profit The Community Brain is hosting the event with help from South Western Railway, bringing its 60 Years of Fashion in Kingston project to the capital for the first time. Titled 200 Years of Fashion at Waterloo Station, this latest event showcases the evolution of the nation’s attire over the last two centuries, progressing from the 1820s to the present day.
