Welcome to The Museum of Today
The Museum of Today is now open, celebrating objects from our communities' home and their importance during lockdown. Visit the museum at www.themuseumoftoday.org
During the first UK lockdown The Museum of Today invited individuals and households to select an object from their home that has a particular resonance for them, now, and to tell its story. Their stories are documented in an exhibition of forty-eight short video submissions, curated into a variety of themes such as Childhood, Stories, Love, Wonder and Loss.
The Museum is also host to a beautiful online Cabinet of Wonders, a place of discovery where you can open the drawers, click on the objects and explore our 21st century Covid-19 cabinet. The virtual cabinet was created by our wonderful artistic team:
Loz Archer
Josephine Miller
Charles-Jean Boucher Anna Tanczos Lucie Arnoux
Five artists from a variety of disciplines were commissioned to respond to the exhibits submitted to The Museum of Today in any way they desired. The artworks can be explored on the website, alongside the objects that inspired them.
The Community Brain would like to thank everyone who submitted an object, our artists, the creative team who illustrated, designed, animated and brought together all the content and Arts Council England who made this project possible.
