Many hands make light work!

SHEDx's task of transforming our overgrown and slightly dilapidated community allotment was made all the easier when the team from GoodGym Kingston descended to help us turn over the soil and prepare the land for the next stage of our Suburban Farming project. Goodgym is a running group with a difference - they run to projects in the local area to help community groups or charities do good. 32 Runners met at Kingston, Guildhall and were given some words of encouragement by Mayor Cllr Julie Pickering. After a good pep talk and some stretches to warm up the team set off on a 3k run to the Tolworth Main Allotment site, where they proceeded to work their magic and show that many hands do indeed

Heritage Shed Tour

We are delighted to announce that our Heritage Shed will be going on tour this summer! The shed will be filled with an exhibition and oral histories documenting the history of allotments in the Surbiton and Tolworth area since 1900. The area has a fascinating heritage linked to sheds and allotments including being the home to Mr Middleton, the voice for Dig for Victory. The shed itself is a loving recreation of our favourite shed on the Tolworth Main Allotment site, where we have our own allotment and a large space being used for Suburban Farming including an acquaponics system. You can find the shed in the quadrangle of the V&A from the 5th to the 18th June, at the Hampton Court Flower
